What Does Epic Universe Have To Do With Anything?

I know some of you are wondering what the hell is going on in here. You thought this was a site dedicated to my writing and the horror genre. Well, this is one of those times when my other side ventures into this dark corner of the universe. The picture shows a very happy me at Universal Studios Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights in 2024. It was my first time attending, and I hope to make it an annual trip.

Brent, what the heck does that have to do with anything?

Funny you should ask…

On May 22nd, Universal will open its third gate with the new Epic Universe expansion to its theme park.

So?

One of the lands in the park is dedicated to the Universal Monsters. Now, we’re getting to the horror part of this thing. If you follow me, you know I’m a fan of the Universal Monsters and their films.

Like, a very big fan…

The park takes you through a portal to the village of Darkmoor. Once there, you will experience the fully immersive village featuring themed restaurants, shops, and attractions. One attraction is based on the Wolfman, and the second is a massive dark ride called Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment.

Monsters Unchained is the ride I’m super stoked to experience. The video Universal released featuring the animatronics for the attraction is fantastic. I’m a huge Disney Adult, but these blow away anything Disney Imagineering has produced lately. I’ve added the video from Universal below for you to watch and drool over.

The park has allowed team members and some influencers to ride the rides and explore the worlds in Epic Universe. The reviews have started to come in, and the word on the street is that Monsters Unchained is worth the hype. Everything from the queue to the pre-show to the ride itself has been extremely positive. Some have called it the best dark ride ever created or the best attraction on the planet.

This excites the Universal Monsters fan in me.

Luckily, single-day tickets for Epic Universe have recently gone on sale through Universal, and I’ve been checking the dates for a trip.

I know this was a completely different kind of article, but there are instances when this site and my Brent’s Crossroads travel site will overlap and coexist. I hope you enjoyed this dark look at something completely different. If you also like Universal, Disney, or travel, I invite you to check out Brent’s Crossroads and join in on the weird adventures there.

Thank you for indulging me on this exciting news. I hope you sleep tonight without anything trying to eat you from under the bed, and I’ll be back with a project update in a few days. I need to obtain permission to discuss one of the items first.

Later my friends,

Brent
