I will admit, I’m not big on going to first-year cons. You never know what to expect or if anyone will even show up. When I heard about Evansville Horror Con, I was reluctant to set up there. My hometown doesn’t exactly seem like the place that would support a horror con. But, I wanted to support a new horror con in the city.
I am glad I did.
Evansville Horror Con blew away any expectations I had. The support Evansville horror fans gave the show was amazing. It was great meeting so many other horror fans from the area. Being able to talk to so many others about our favorite genre books, movies, and shows was awesome.
I’m not going to lie, there are times lately where I wonder if I can keep doing this. The reception to my stuff and the conversations I had with people stopping by the table renewed my faith in myself and what I’m doing. I never thought I’d sell out of six titles. I can’t thank all those who stopped by to buy books or talk shop enough for helping this old soul get rejuvenated.
Thank you to the con staff for a great show, and hopefully we can do it all again next year.
Well, I have work to do. There are still many stories to tell and I only have so long to live, lol.
Until next time,
Brent
