Secret Project is Worth Dying For

For a few months, as I finished the first draft of Reconstruction of the Dead, I started work on another project. It was shrouded in mystery and I waited till I reached over halfway through with the book before pulling the cover off to show what lurked beneath. The idea is to launch this book at Scares That Care this July. This book was born of a story I did for an anthology and now I get to share the news.

A few years ago, I was invited to submit a short story set in Armand Rosamilia’s Dying Days world. The book is called Still Dying 2 and is a great collection of zombie fiction. My story was set in Orlando and featured two characters who come across a magical theme park that had been transformed into a community under the kingly rule of a madman. I really loved George and I always wanted to check in on him to see what happened to him next.

I approached Armand about doing another story about George and the idea came about to write a book based on him. He was awesome and gave me his full support. The Dying Days  world is a cool place and the fact I get to play in the sandbox again is a great honor. I’m not going to say I’m not nervous, because I am.

The story follows George and his trip through Florida on his way to St. Augustine through the zombie world. In the book, I also wrote my beloved pug into it. I always spoke of him in all my bios in some new and funny way, but this is my way to honor him.

So, I am happy to announce to you the next book in the Dying Days series…

DYING DAYS: DEATH SENTENCE

I want to thank Armand for the chance to visit and play in his world again. I can never thank him enough and if you haven’t read any of the books, go and check them out.

Later,

Brent
